Mazarelli Silk Card

"Joker" DOB 13/10/92

Sire" Ch: Cathkin Ace O Spades            Dam: Mazarelli Miss Chief

13th Oct 1992  -  27th June 2004

"Joker," who takes a bow every time the refrigerator door opens and the light comes on!

This cartoon depicts "Joker" unerringly. Also affectionately known as "Mr. Salesman" for his unique ability to capture the heart of everyone that comes through our front gate, and for those who choose to ignore him, you can be certain he will perform for you...  the most spectacular show on earth!!.

"Joker" came to live at Vedamea when he was approx. two years old, and immediately became "King of our Castle!" In that time he has given us many years of sheer pleasure as a treasured companion, but just as important, he has passed on his heritage from some of the finest bloodlines in the country. Those bloodlines feature in most all the collies here at Vedamea, and so whilst they live on - "Joker" will never die.

Ch. Vedamea The Diamond Beau - head study
Ch. Vedamea The Diamond Beau

August 1997 - January 2006

  "Beau" DOB 25/8/97      Hip-scored Wyburn 2 - 2

Sire: Mazarelli Silk Card                 Dam: Ch: Vedamea Midnight Diamond

Beau is one of our most precious gems here at Vedamea ...

An effortless mover with correct conformation, an exquisite head and expression, and a personality filled with exuberance and style, he has garnered a large fan club.

Sired by Mazarelli Silk Card out of Ch. Vedamea Midnight Diamond, he has been a consistent winner in the show ring at both Speciality and All Breed shows. Renowned and respected judges, both specialists and all-rounders, from around the globe have bestowed the majority of Beau's coveted honours.

Sydney Royal Easter shows have ensured he is never off the winner's pegs, capturing the ultimate award... Best Of Breed - Sydney Royal 2001!

Enjoying all the comforts here at Vedamea, Beau is shown only very occasionally these days - at the prestigious shows. Contented to watch his progeny "strut their stuff" in the show ring, he is kept busy with an ever "watchful eye" on all the ladies.

 "Casanova"    DOB 21/6/96

Sire : Rainshade Continental Drift (Imp USA)     Dam: Ch: Vedamea Midnight Diamond

With his effervescent personality, we gladly welcome Cass back into our kennels in the prime of his life! He is a beautifully balanced, correctly coloured blue merle, with a lovely headpiece giving him that correct Collie expression.

Cass is one of two champions from our first litter by Rainshade Continental Drift (USA) out of Ch Vedamea Midnight Diamond.

Cass has many notable wins in his sparse show career including numerous Best In Show All Breeds, & Speciality shows. Also a consistent winner at the Sydney Royal Easter Shows, Cass will now be utilised to his full potential, becoming much more prominent on the Sydney show circuit. More importantly, & as the sire of our stunning white merle Vedamea In My Ivory Gown, we have exciting plans to incorporate his qualities into our gene pool.

Ch: Vedamea Abeau Ryginal

"Rydgie Didge" DOB 16/12/99

Sire: Ch: Vedamea The Diamond Beau     Dam: Vedamea Chances Ah

Rydgie Didge is sired by Ch. Vedamea The Diamond Beau, and his dam is Vedamea Chances Ah. He is a double-up of our "hidden treasure" (Ch. Vedamea Midnight Diamond)... this breeding the result of many years planning, and with a dual purpose! His first breeding to our stunning white merle, Vedamea In My Ivory Gown, produced an outstanding litter...

Some of his show highlights to date saw him place 3rd at the sixth Collie National, receive his first two challenges as a Minor under Collie Specialists, followed up with Minor In Show(s) All Breeds. He won the junior dog class at the 2001 Sydney Royal Show (his litter brother placed 2nd), and this year place 4th in the Intermediate Dog class.

Shown sparingly and not a great lover of the show ring, Rydgie Didge has proved his forté is his siring ability... its as good as you'll get!!

He not only produces bone, substance, effortless movement, balance and profuse coat, but also glorious heads and typical Collie temperament.

Ch: Vedamea I Spy My Fantasy

"Spyder" DOB 14/11/02   Hip-scored Wyburn 0 - 0

Sire: Ch: Vedamea The Diamond Beau     Dam: Fantasy Fait Accompli (Imp USA)

"Spyder" has seldom been off the winners pegs since he first stepped into the show ring.

"Spyder" attained his Championship on the same day as his dam Ch: Fantasy Fait Accompli (Imp USA), under semi-specialist Mrs. Ann Colleyer.  Just to ensure his beautiful dam did not over shadow him on the day he also took Runner Up Best In Group.

At his first Sydney Royal Show in 2004, "Spyder" was Reserve Challenge Dog from the Junior class, and again in 2005, he was Best Of Breed!!! Like all the "great dogs," Spyder wins are consistent at both All Breeds and Collie Speciality shows, awarded under a variety of judges, both local, and  from all parts of the globe!!

More importantly, "Spyder" is following in his sires footsteps, proving  not only to be a "winner," but also a "producer!"

RUNNER UP BEST IN SHOW at the 10th COLLIE NATIONAL ON 7/7/2007
Beaten only by his nephew, he congratulates Ch: Baqilodge  Paid The Piper.

"Phantom" has been enjoying his youth here at Vedamea pondering the right time to step into the paw prints of his brother, Spyder. After a big coat drop "Phantom" recently re-entered the ring  and took Best Exhibit In Group under semi-specialist Mrs. P.Brennan-Lim (S.A.), bringing him VERY close to his title. More recently he was awarded Australian Bred in Show at the.Illawarra Collie & Sheltie Speciality Show.

"Phantom" attained his Championship at the prestigious RNSWCC Spring Fair this weekend of Nov 20th - 21st, 2004. He is the FIFTH from this magnificent litter of six pups to complete his Championship by his 2nd birthday. It is interesting to note that ALL of "Phantom's" Challenges were awarded by either Collie or Shetland Sheepdog Specialists among the strongest competition here in Sydney.

His final points were awarded by the International All Breed Judge and Collie Specialists Mr. H. Pizzorno (Ury), breeder of the famous Kimdar Collies in Uruguay. Interestingly Mr. Pizzorno  awarded Phantom's half sister BOB and Intermediate In Group at the Perth Royal Show in 2002, and also Reserve Challenge to their sire Ch: Vedamea The Diamond Beau.

More importantly "Phantom"  is now a proven sire of several litters of pups. The first litter out of his lovely Dam Ch: Fantasy Fait Accompli (Imp USA), plus some other litters to outside bitches.

Vedamea Reigning Diamond "Damon"

DOB 26/9/03

Sire: Ch: Vedamea The Diamond Beau     Dam: Swinbrad Jmacia Rainbeau  "Damon"

"Damon," yet another son of our Ch: Vedamea The Diamond Beau,  and like his sire he was also one that has been slow to mature, determining a leisurely, but steady beginning to his show career. Photographed here at approx 11 months old he exhibits the show potential that began to come together as he neared two years of age. Recently he has been awarded numerous Best Of Breeds which brings him close to his championship.

"Damon" lives with his adored co-owners, the MORRIS family.

Vedamea Spy Away With Me "Hummer"

DOB 6/11/05

Sire: Ch: Vedamea I Spy My Fantasy     Dam: Lochwind Artistique

Hummer is a double up on Ch: Vedamea The Diamond Beau,  and like his grandsire
has been slow to mature; the very reason he did not begin his show career until he was over
      (6) months old. At his first two shows he immediately stepped into the pawprints
of his sire taking Reserve Challenge to him on both occasions

Photographed here at 7 months old, it seems apparent that Hummer has the same qualities
as his sire. The "clown" of the present bunch of youngsters we are growing
out, makes his delightful personality full of endless entertainment.
We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this young lad.

Vedamea Me My Talisman "Packer"

DOB 18/11/05

Sire: Ch: Gadenine High Roller     Dam: Vedamea Be My Fantasy

"Packer" is the result of an outcross breeding to the handsome Ch: Gadenine High Roller,
out of our lovely Vedamea Be My Fantasy.

This union produced (6) lovely sable & white pups and we retained both "Packer"
and his litter sister, Vedamea Be My Alibi.
Maturing slowly but surely (Click to see how - Marilyn's get"), , Packer will make his debut  into the show ring next month, at approximately (8) months old.

If these two young lads prove to be as competitive in the show ring as they are at home, then
we are in for some colourful moments !!.

Introducing a son from "Scar's" first litter........

Vedamea Bachelor Ov Arts  "River"

  DOB 05/06/06

Sire: Ch: Vedamea Fantasy By'Knight     Dam: Robgai DoeRayMe

"River" was bred by Vedamea Collies and is co-owned and adored by Kelly Gill, who has some big plans for
this young man. Kelly's expertise is in the field of Obedience, Agility, Fly ball, & Heel To Music, where she has
been extremely successful with her home bred Border Collies for the past 15-20 years. Likewise, "River"
will get the same opportunity as Kelly's Borders to demonstrate his skills in these areas.

Photo by; Kelly Gill  8 months of age.

"River"

Kelly is renown for her expertise in all facets of training her famous Kerodan Border Collies, including
regular appearances on T.V. Kelly is about to embark on one of the most Enterprising experiences of her life,
when in early 2008, she will go off to Hong Kong for a few months with three of her very talented dogs,
who have been cast in a movie. We will keep you posted on her accomplishments along the way,
so keep an eye on this spot.

Meantime, "River" is enjoying all the fun times with his kennel mates as he exploits their endless playground,
filled with lots of interesting things to do, such as playing with an array of other fauna on the property.
Like most of the Vedamea collies, River is maturing slowly, but surely, and will make his debut at the
9th Collie National in Melbourne in July 2007,

Photo by: Kelly Gill. 13 months old

Vedamea Bachelor Ov Arts  "River"

"River" made his debut into the show ring at the 9th Collie National Speciality on July 7th, 2007,
and immediately proved he is multitalented as he strutted his stuff in
the conformation ring.
Groomed and handled to perfection by his owner, Kelly Gill, he undoubtedly made his presence known,
settling for nothing less than...

BEST JUNIOR IN SHOW!

The event was made all the more memorable for those of us who had the pleasure of his companionship during
the trip away. “River”…. the ultimate clown, always with a trick under his “ruff” never stopped entertaining!
Like his litter sister, his heritage of the Fantasy and Gambit bloodlines has come shinning through,
bearing witness that he is neither a  “gamble nor a fantasy!”

We were so pleased with this breeding we hope to repeat it late 2007!

And our latest acquisition...

                                             ... what an asset!

Ch: Baqilodge Quiver N Arrow "Zac"

DOB 13/05/06

Sire: Ch: Corydon Black Zerxes (Imp UK)     Dam: Am/Aust Ch: Blossom Hill American Dream (ImpUSA)

Despite a Tsunami of proof/quality, this here still  UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Smooth Collies have always been a breed we've admired, albeit from a distance! However, until we
were blessed to have one brought into our lives, we didn't realise the void that existed!
Vedamea Collies will NEVER live without a "SMOOTHIE" ever again!

Congratulations To Zac's breeder, Mim Bester, with (3) Smooths from this litter, all titled just over 12 months of age,
and with another (3) on well on their way!  What an achievement from your first litter of Smooths; surely proof
that if you have quality stock, you can aim for the stars. Zac; a combination of two of the best collie bloodlines
on each side of the globe, came yet another source of quality that we are proud to infuse into our gene pool.

Keep a close eye on Zac's "playground" and see what he comes up with!!

You would be well advised to consider our Stud Force for your best bitches!!!
